The Minnesota Soil Health Coalition is partnering with Sustainable Farming Association, Minnesota Ag Water Quality Certification Program, Minnesota Office for Soil Health, and the Board of Soil and Water Resources on a test plot at Farm Fest 2019. The purpose of the test plot is to provide education to attendees about soil health practices and cover crops.
The test plot size is 120’ x 120’ (SR14); 7 cover crop mixes were planted 6/26/2019 on the plot (one interseeded into corn at V5). A tent will be onsite with information, visuals, farmers, and specialists to answer questions.
Kent Solberg will present daily from 9am-10:20 am on grazing cover crops. Brian Pfarr and Holly Hatlewick will run the rainfall simulator daily from 11am-11:30. MN Ag Water Quality Certification Program staff will provide program info Tuesday 4pm and Wednesday & Thursday 1pm.
