Solar United Neighbors is working to help farmers and rural small business owners tap into grants and financing available to install solar. Solar power has grown in popularity as the costs of installing solar have dropped while at the same time solar panel technology has dramatically improved.
For farmers and rural business owners there is financing and grants available to go solar. A federal tax credit that covers 26% of the cost of solar installations on businesses goes down to 22% in 2021 and then continues at 10% from 2022 onward. Two experts on the issue will be featured on a Solar United Neighbors webinar on May 19 at 6:30 p.m.:
- Fritz Ebinger, Clean Energy Resource Team, Rural Energy Development Program Manager
- Autumn Long, Solar United Neighbors Regional Director
You can also contact Bobby King at Solar United Neighbors at 507-450-7258 or bking@solarunitedneighbors.org.
In addition farmers and small business owners in southwest Minnesota may want to enroll in Solar United Neighbors Morris and Southwest Prairie solar co-op to tap into additional resources for going solar.
